    Muletas Gran Estabilidad

    En la adaptación de la muleta axilar hay que prestar especial atención a la zona axilar. Debe sujetarse entre la cara interna del brazo y la cara anterolateral del tórax, a una altura aproximada de 5 cm por debajo y discretamente por delante del hueco axilar.

    Este apoyo debe estar almohadillado con materiales como la goma-espuma, para impedir la compresión del nervio radial de la axila.

    Los bastones ingleses forman parte del grupo de los productos de apoyo que se utilizan en situaciones de enfermedad en las que el paciente requiere una descarga de uno de los miembros inferiores, una mayor base de sustentación y una deambulación más segura.

    Debemos comprobar el estado de la contera con frecuencia, puesto que una vez el caucho empieza a desgastarse, aumenta el riesgo de caída y el bastón pierde adherencia y, por tanto, estabilidad.
